Frequently Asked Questions
At Glow Station we will talk you through the steps involved in the tan and any questions that you might have. In the meantime, below are some common questions:
What should I wear in the Mystic booth?
Most people wear nothing. Since the room is completely private, going for an all-over treatment is completely up to you.
Should I cover my hair while tanning in the Mystic tan?
When in the unit you wear a disposable shower cap, which we provide to help protect your hair. The solution will not damage or colour your hair, but can leave it feeling damp after your session if you do not wear the shower cap provided.
Will my skin be wet when I get out of the Mystic tan?
If any excess moisture remains on the skin’s surface after the session, simply use a towel to remove it, towel off completely just as you do when you shower. This won’t streak your tan.
How long should I wait after a session before showering?
To give the DHA enough time to fully set, we recommend waiting a minimum of 4 hours after a session. Showering sooner may diminish the intensity of the tan.
Will swimming affect my tan?
Swimming in chlorinated water or salt water can fade the results, cause possible streaking and will diminish the length of your tan. However, normal activities such as bathing, showering or physical activities will not affect the quality of the tan.
Will my skin look orange?
No! This happens because of bad application techniques and/or old outdated spray tanning equipment. Mystic has polarized misting technology that assures all areas of the body get a uniform and even coating of the solution in the exact quantity required.
How long will it last and does the tan fade naturally?
The length of the tan can vary from 5 – 10 days depending on your skin. The tan fades naturally; not blotchy or in patches like some spray tan systems.
Will it work if i have very fair skin or if I am unable to tan in regular tanning beds?
Yes. Mystic will give flawless tanning results on all skin types
Is an allergic reaction likely?
The ingredients have been successfully used in cosmetics and food products for decades, and are proven safe for use on the skin. If you’ve had previous allergic reactions to self-tanning lotions or cosmetics you should ask at to the salon to do a patch test.
What happens if I inhale any of the product?
DHA (the active tanning ingredient) is a non- hazardous compound and causes no adverse reaction in moderate quantities when applied topically or even ingested. However, nose filters are provided by the salon should you wish to use them.
Can I use the Mystic booth if I am pregnant?
We recommend consulting with your doctor before going ahead with the session.
